STALYC 2012-2013 Directory Election Act
The Member Ordinary General Assembly of the Transplant Society of Latin America and the Caribbean was held on March 25th, with the purpose to inform the members of the activities and financial results of the period January 2010 to February 2011.
By this the STALYC articles were fulfilled with the election of the Directory for the period 2012-2013.
At the time 5 candidates were registered, and the trial developed within the formal processes previously established by the Articles of the Directory.
The vote count was in charge of the General Secretary of the Society, Dr. Mireya Ortiz.
Thirty full members of the STALYC with rights to vote participated in this election process.
Once the vote count was fulfilled, the following result was obtained:
- Dr. Mario Abbud 23 votes
- Dr. Roberto Barriga 8 votes
- Dr. Francisco González 16 votes
- Dra. María Amalia Matamoros 28 votes
- Dr. Cesar Vascones 0 votes
- Blanc 1 vote
Dr. Rafael Reyes Acevedo This election is ratified.
In consequence, the assuming Directory for 2012-2013, is formed by:
President : Dr. Roberto Tanus (Argentina)
Elected President : Dr. Alejandro Nino-Murcia (Colombia)
Past President :Dr. Ashley Baquero (Dominican Republic)
General Secretary : Dr. Mireya Ortiz (Chile)
Vice-President :Dr. Francisco Gonzalez (Uruguay)
Vice -President :Dr. Mario Abbud (Brazil)
Secretary : Dr. María Amalia Matamoros (Costa Rica)
Treasurer: Dr. Rafael Reyes (Mexico)
With the Election Act, the modification of determined sections of the Articles and the constitution of the Pediatric Transplant Committee was approved, and with this, the creation of the Transplant Nursing Department was ratified.
